General Manager at the Poly

We’re excited to announce a new opportunity to join the team at The Poly as General Manager. Salary £30K.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced leader with excellent interpersonal, business and organisational skills and a good understanding of the arts sector in Cornwall. You will be directing The Poly team to deliver a viable, exciting and varied programme of activities, including film, live events, exhibitions and archive-related activity to ensure the ongoing development and success of the Poly Guild and Poly Pottery in terms of income maximisation, as showcases for local artists and as opportunity for community engagement.

As Falmouth’s cultural centre, The Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society (The Poly) promotes engagement in the arts, sciences and Cornish history through film, live events, exhibitions, lectures and workshops. Facilities include galleries for exhibition and hire, a 180-seat theatre, a bar, The Poly Pottery and The Poly Guild, our shop showcasing the work of local makers and artists.

This full-time role will be based at The Poly in central Falmouth. Sadly, The Poly building is not yet fully accessible, so please note that the ability to climb stairs is essential to this role. The Poly’s normal opening hours, outside of the Covid-19 era, are Monday evenings, and Tuesday to Saturday between the hours of 10.00am and 10.30pm.
