Basic Basic Social Media for Tourism & Creative Businesses with Bethia Thomas, 25th April 2018

Wednesday 25th April 2018
Rosehip Barn, Launceston
10am – 3.30pm

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest – the list is almost endless. If you are a creative or working in the Cornish tourism industry and a little daunted by the prospect of using social media to grow your business, then this is the course for you. It is a very basic introduction to the various platforms available, looking at who your target audiences are and the best ways to reach them online. The day will also include a hands-on workshop with a social media professional, helping you to set up an account, publish your first posts and put together a strategic content plan for the months to come.

Bethia Thoma ( along with the Cornwall 365 team will walk you gently through basic basic social media, including in a tasty lunch to keep you fuelled – please let us know of any dietary requirements in the ticket form.

What do I need to bring?

All participants to bring with them:
1) A laptop and charger
2) Some digital photos associated with their business, for uploading onto social media accounts
3) A profile photo or business logo
4) An accessible and working email address

Who is this for?

This event is for tourism and creative businesses in Cornwall. As spaces are limited, we are only able to accept one booking per business.

What’s the refund policy?

If you’re no longer able to make it, we will refund your ticket up 7 days before the event. If you’re unable to attend but don’t let us know, we will not be able to refund your ticket.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Public transport options are limited, so the best way to get to Rosehip Barn is by car. We are happy to help link attendees together for potential car shares – if you have a space in your car, or you are looking for a space, please let us know by emailing

From the A30 take the Kennards House junction on to the A395 signposted Camelford/Bude.

Pass Trethorne Leisure Farm and continue along the A395 for approximately 8 miles, ignore the first sign for St Clether (even if Sat Nav tells you to take it!) Continue on the main road passing Moorview Garage and some windmills, when you see a parking lay-by on your right slow down and indicate left, take sharp left turn onto a country lane signposted St Clether. Drive down this road for 1 mile until you reach RoseHip Barn – a large stone barn with balconies. Parking is directly opposite. For Disabled Parking drive up the ramp to the right of the Barn and park at the back of the building.
