Cornwall is part of Interreg FCE EXPERIENCE – a €23.3 million project, promoting off-season tourism and supporting sustainable economic growth across the Channel region, involving six areas of the Channel region (14 project partners). Cornwall’s funding will support the creation of out-of-season visitor experiences (October to March) and support the development of a sustainable cultural tourism model, connecting visitors with the distinct historical, geographical and cultural assets of the local Penzance pilot area. With the objective to drive sustainable visitors during the low season.
The project is divided into five key deliverable areas that will take the pilot area and business through a process of engagement and training, product development, upgrading associated infrastructure for the off-season, marketing and research.
Due to run until June 2023, the project is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Interreg France (Channel) England Programme under the Natural and Cultural Heritage funding category.
As one of the partners in this project, Cornwall Council is looking to recruit a Project Manager to cover the existing’s PM maternity leave. Work is well underway, and the fixed-term Project Manager will be responsible for the key deliverable areas outlined above. Working closely with the Technical Project Manager (job share) to ensure the wider project outcomes are achieved within the funding guidelines, and supported by a full-time project assistant.
This role is fixed term covering maternity leave for 9 months with possible extension.
The role is 22.2 hours a week (3 days) including Monday and Friday but there will be an opportunity to discuss the work pattern in more detail during the recruitment process.
Desired start date end of July/August 2021.
