Mazed Tales

Traditional tales from South East Cornwall Stories of mermaids and giants, piskies and princesses belonging to the moors and fishing villages of Cornwall. Long ago they would have been told by wandering droll storytellers, then retold around the fire at night. Now they can be watched on a magical app in 12 short animated films. Each animation is made by a different team of animators, each tale is different…funny,scary,enchanting, surprising. Each is set in a beautiful location in the south east of Cornwall which can be found with the help of the app map.

• Watch animations of 12 tales narrated by Cornish storyteller Will Coleman in the voice of droll teller and umbrella man Bill Chub,with traditional Cornish music from bard Mike O’Connor
•  Read the picture book version of the tales, written by Bodmin Moor writer Anna Chorlton and illustrated with stills from the animations
• Use the location markers to find the setting for each tale
• Use the location aware map as a guide to the tale setting, then watch the tale animation in its place. Needs 3 or 4 G

The 12 tales featured were chosen by the communities where the stories are set as part of Mazed, a project to reconnect people with stories of place.
