Skills development: Basic basic social media for tourism & creative businesses

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest – the list is almost endless. If you are a creative or working in the Cornish tourism industry and a little daunted by the prospect of using social media to grow your business, then this is the course for you. It is a very basic introduction to the various platforms available, looking at who your target audiences are and the best ways to reach them online. The day will also include a hands-on workshop with a social media professional, helping you to set up an account, publish your first posts and put together a strategic content plan for the months to come.

When: Thursday 7th December, 10am-3.30pm
Cost: Free, with a refundable £10 booking deposit.

What do I need to bring?

All participants to bring with them 1) A laptop and charger 2) Some digital photos associated with their business, for uploading onto social media accounts 3) A profile photo or business logo 4) An accessible and working email address.

Who is this for?

This event is for tourism and creative businesses in Cornwall. As spaces are limited, we are only able to accept one booking per business.

What’s the refund policy?

If you’re no longer able to make it, we will refund your booking despoit up to 24 hours before the event. If you’re unable to attend but don’t let us know, we will not be able to refund your deposit.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

We will be meeting at Mor Workspace, Treloggan Lane, Newquay, Cornwall TR7 2FP (find it on Google maps here). There is free parking on site.

Mor Workspace is a 20 minute walk from Newquay train station, or a 16 minute bus journey and short walk on the number 85 or 87 buses.
