We work with Carn to Cove‘s village halls, larger venues, local theatre companies & event promoters. Tickets sold across the UK promoting Cornwall and Cultural Tourism
What has been your most useful Cornwall 365 experience or tool?
The 1st Cultural Canapes evening at The Heartlands where so many great Cornish actors, performers and other creative people showcased the amazing amount of artistic talent that is alive in Cornwall
Best experience you’ve experienced (in Cornwall)
If I’m permitted to mention two: WildWorks WWI event at Mevagissey & The Lost Gardens of Heligan. And OddSocks Theatre at Penlee Park Open Air Theatre – “Macbeth – the Musical”. Watch for OddSocks in 2017, they really are something different!
The family taken care of. The business is taken care of. What is your perfect day & evening in Cornwall?
Given some fine Cornish weather – warm, dry, slightly cloudy – a 50-60 mile cycle ride around Cornwall and back in time to have an evening meal at one of the many great places around St Austell Bay
You have free tickets to the performance of your choice. Who would you take with you (living or dead)?
How many tickets? I’ll take all of my family, thanks. We’re lucky enough to have our children and grand-children nearby so a trip to see Rogue Theatre at Tehidy Woods for their Summer or Winter Shows is a must – followed by a great family meal ‘down West’.
Most unusual performance space you have been to?
Not so much ‘unusual’ as ‘fascinating’ – the dance shows “in the landscape” by Dance Republic 2 at Cotehele House & Gardens by the Tamar (just in Cornwall) and last year’s tremendous promenade performance at Trebah Gardens, finishing on the beach by the Helford river.
Best live music venue in Cornwall
What’s the meaning of ‘Best’ ? Cornwall has some superb historic venues, with great acoustics – I’d love to be at Gwennap Pit sometime but meanwhile Calstock Arts in the Old Chapel has a superb, varied programme of live music
Your favourite walk?
I prefer cycling – you can go further and see over the Cornish hedges but still stop and look at things easily if you want. So the Lands End Sportive, starting from St Ives – Lands End – Mousehole – Penzance – Camborne – Hayle – St Ives is a great ride with fabulous scenery. But, I’ve not had a chance to do the Eden Classic Sportive yet !
Best place in Cornwall to get food?
Cornwall has some really good local food producers and I’m a ‘Cheese’ person so I do love the range of local cheeses available. So far, I’m not too sure about the ‘edible insects’ that are on offer locally but that might change!
Name one, really different excursion
I’ve not had an opportunity to try this but we recently sold tickets for a cruise from Padstow up to Wadebridge and back, complete with live band, licensed bar & street food. Sounds fun and I’ve never viewed the Camel Valley from the river itself.
What’s your 2nd best kept secret about Cornwall?
We don’t have secrets – we’re always telling people what a lovely county Cornwall is. And what superb events and cultural attractions and activities they can enjoy in Cornwall – whether they’re local or visiting from out-of-county.
If not Cornwall, where?
Probably cycling across to Brittany. Take the train up to Plymouth for the night-crossing on Brittany Ferries to Roscoff and cycle down to the South Coast of Brittany in the Spring or early Autumn
